cut out whilst driving
« on: 14 November 2013, 19:22 »
theres a road that i drive along regularly with what i can only describe as a trench going from one side to the other. it looks like where they have dug it the road up at some point and refilled it but its sunk.
when ever i go over this my engine cuts out and all the dials drop.
it dont normally drive down there when its dark but tonight i had to and so all my lights went out part from my side lights and could hardly see anything.
its not to bad, as it only seems this particular bit of road but scared it will happen when the girlfriend is driving and it all goes wrong!
this ever happened to anyone else before? any one got a guess as to waht it is?

sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere and it it causing problems on a bumpy road.

Not a common problem from what i have experienced sounds like you need to go through the wiring on your light as they are injunction with dials as i have a problem when i turn my lights on my dial spaz out and reset so somewhere in the wiring the use same earth/live and one can cause problems with the other.

i reckon its could be the crank impulse sensor, the wires go brittle right where the wires go into the sensor and when your driving the speedo and rev counter bounce about.
