I will test my iPhone and see how long it takes to fire up, is your iPod a old HDD based one? 
At the moment I am using a SD card as I like having Album Art 

You can get album art through your iphone as well so would imagine it would be the same for new generation iPods

and can i not get the album art on the older ipods?

Album art depends on the iPod/iPhone, do you currently get album art displayed on your iPod, is so then it should work on the CMS screen but you will need a red collar MDI cable and not the blue collar which most cars seem to be supplied with.
This red collar cable also allows iTunes video playback too.
The cables are £36 each though from the dealers

Not sure pal as I use my iphone rather than an iPod. Have you tried?

I can get the art on the ipod itself so thats a good sign but what the hell is this about a red collar cable? I never noticed any red on mine so i take it mine is blue. whats the difference and does anyone have a link to this?

They are the same cables but the red collar only comes with Navigation models usually

The basic sat nav only gets the blue collar cable. The red cable will allow you to dipslay album artwork and if you have sat nav pro to play music videos through the screen

I see, well ive been onto the dealer and he says, oh youve got the dynaudio, right thats different let me know look into it for you. lol you never know i might get it for free ok last question. On the Sat Nav you can split the screen and put the audio info on there so you can see whats playing while using the map. Will the art be displayed in that too?
