Just thought of something, not an annoyance just a slight disappointment - I really loved the red submarine lighting overhead that bathed the gear stick area in a nice warm red light in the MK5-6 and Scirocco.
Before you all cry "but the MK7 has beautiful ambient lighting", yes I know, but with everything (at least in a non GTI) being black with white lighting, it looks just a little..........sterile ?
I'm serious considering removing the LED foot well lights (don't think they are that bright anyway), re-coding them back to standard foot well lights via VCDS, and replacing them with my old Scirocco's Red LED footwell bulbs. When turned down to about 20% when driving, it just gave a really nice warn red glow (not too bright), then when you openend the door they would go to full brightness and even though they were red, they were considerably brighter than the LED ones fitted to the GTD / GTI's.
Hmmm, might give this a go next weekend and see how it looks and post some photos up here. I'm sure it will be a marmite thing

I miss that feature from the mk5 and mk6's I've owned too. That was a nice touch.
I do like the replacement lighting on the GTI's though and the red door stripes are awesome and the white GTD lighting is just too much white inside so I think your suggestion is a really good one.
On the GTI or should I say 'in the GTI' you have the contrast of the red stripe and the neat white door handle LED's in white which is all monochrome on the GTD and I think that's a shame.
