NEWS JUST IN. Email from dealer. The car has arrived in the UK. Peel me off the ceiling someone please?
I think its very enviable how excited you are Gina!  Maybe I have had too many new cars and the 'Kid at Christmas' thing has worn off a bit for me.... :undecided:

Oh Mark noooo! This is going to be my second brand new car. The first was a bog standard Fiat Punto way back 16 years ago. It will be my first VW (first German car even) and first car with proper performance, so I feel pretty giddy!!! I've always had a passion for cars, but never been in a position to get one I've really really wanted before.

So how we gonna re-kindle the magic for you Mark?

Well,  I guess mine will be sitting at Grimsby port now waiting for a transporter. Just looked at Google Street view, and there sure are a lot of VW's waiting in their wraps in the compounds. Won't be long till it's coming my way along the M62!!

Ha ha ha! So you all think I'm driving a beat up 16 year old Punto now!!!!!   Noooooooooo!
I have had quite a few second hand cars in-between (and before)! Currently in a 2008 1.8 Honda Civic EX. Had it 4 years, and got to say it's been a nice drive. BUT…. noticed there's a lot of Honda Civic taxi's these days… it had to go!!!!!! Ok, I'm a car snob.
I would love a Scirocco… always loved them as soon as they came out. But it's a coupe & not enough doors (Have kids)! See what you mean about a side step & a bit up. But it's still exciting!

Gina... the Golf GTi is awesome... I have done nearly 800 miles and it just makes me smile ear to ear every single day.
I will have to take the Golf R32 out on a dry day as the poor thing is being neglected
Off to North Wales this weekend so going to try Sport Mode
