Engine warning light P2015 DTC
« on: 04 November 2013, 20:12 »
Evening all,

The engine warning light appeared on my dashboard on Saturday after starting accompanied by a lumpy idle. The car drove normally and the light disappeared after repeated starts. I have just fitted a bluefin so was concerned that this was something to do with it. Anyway the light reappeared again tonight and I used the bluefin to find the fault code - p2015 manifold intake flap. I've cleared the fault code and the light has stayed off. Do you think this is related to the bluefin or is just coincidence? The car is out of warranty so do you think vw will cover the cost to replace the manifold? Will the fact I have a bluefin fitted affect a goodwill payment from vw?

I love the car but it has been so unreliable:

New water pump
New turbo
New turbo intake pipe
New brake servo

Any advice gratefully received!

Matt

I have heard of this fault been more common after a remap but its not caused by it.
This is a known fault and been talked about a few times on here.
I would not mension the bluefin if you are after a good will payment and getting it fixed at the stealers.

You definitely have been very unlucky as you have had all but 3 of the common issues with these cars.

I was the 2nd owner but the car was in immaculate condition.

I've now booked the car in to vw. Just out of interest, i've cleared the fault code and the light is off but will the dealer still be able to see the previous fault code or will it have been wiped off?

Sounds like the previous owner ragged it to bits, or just hammered the Turbo.

Did you save the fault code before wiping? if not it may be gone as my VAGCOM doesnt see it when they have been wiped.

To be fair the turbo was replaced due to an oil leak which actually turned out to be the turbo inlet pipe leaking. All uner warranty so wasn't bothered at the time.

Hopefully the light will come back on and I'll just leave it.

Mine did the same when I installed the bluefin, same code I reset it but it came back, new inlet manifold required, think they quoted about £670 but it was fixed under warranty.

I thought it was to blame at first, really crap design when you see it, it's only the flap but you have to replace all of it.

yeah it has nothing to do with Bluefin, just poor design like Richard said
