Front brake hose fit golf GTI 8V 1992

Funny you mention this i have a 1990 g ref 16v and i ordered new pads and brake hose and tbey was wrong, the brake hose was same problem as you ... mine still isent sorted so if you find out thw answer let me know dude!!

I spoke to the garage today. The hose I supplied them is the right length, the right thread, it looks exactly like the one in the diagram in the link .......the issue is the the tip of the threaded male part. If you look down the the hole the end is concave or flared as my mechanic desribed it, the old hose is flat if that makes sense. It is the mating of these suffaces that makes the seal. The hole is also of a larger diameter than the old part. I note that the part on heritage lists as up to 91. Mine is a March 92, Surely Vw did not change the parts for the last MK2s ?

Cant tell if this will fit unless I can look down the hole. The garage say the concave end is different to the original with is flat , and will not seal ?

If you look really really close, magnify on a desktop pc it looks concave.

I take it you confirmed what size your brakes are?

You right it does look concave which is the same as the replacement that does not fit. Not checked brake type yet, mentioned it to the garage , going to check tomorrow. I have a receipt in the paper work from last owner for 239 mm replacement discs so not hopeful on that theory but will double check. Will remove hose from car and get them custom made if needs be.

Thanks Ben I need a photo looking down the end of the male end to see if its concave around the bore or a flat end , that is the issue .

Right, crappy picture but this is an ATE hose and it's flat at the end with a smallish hole....



This is a Meyle hose, concave at the end with a large hole...
