Can you remove the upholstery / covers off mark 2 golf seats?

hi, i got a new mk 2 golf seat, coz my old one was broken, and the new one is filthy, im just thinking, it was just teh frame that was broken on the old seat, so is tehre any way in which u can remove the upholstery from the old one and put it on the new one?

hey man i try my best! its hard to describe how to do it, you just have to work your way round pulling off relevant clips etc undoing things. easier to do than describe.

ok, so i might try to fix up the bolster and frame a bit on my drivers seat. Removing the seat is not a problem, but where would you suggest starting with removing the cloth please? any one corner/seam a good place to start?

first off remove the side covers. there are 3 little pins you need to push in and then it clips off. You can remove the top half of the seat at this stage by the screws or wotever

turn the seat over and you need to stretch the cloth and unhook it from the metal hooks (might need to bend the hooks)

then at the back underside you just pull the folded cloth out and the rest should be easy to figure out.

Like Joe said its hard to explain. I did this to my seat and the foam bolster was badly worn. VW charge £60 for a new foam but i was thinking of takng one from a passenger seat as they are more firm or cutting out my own foam

cheers blue, i bought a new seat, and the cloth werent as good as my old one, and if i swap the covers , then at least i can keep the upholstery matching with the rest of the car, WILL DEF GIVE IT A TRY
