Tried a focus ST - not my thing. Big, cumbersome and lazy power.

DSG has been serviced along with filter last year along with timing belt kit!

Needs a new thermostat though.
focus feels alot lighter than mk5 an has instant power

Don't know mate it just felt heavy and I tried a 320bhp stage 2. Fast yes - fun? No. Gti reminds me of my old MK2, love it. No Haldex system weighing it down like my S3.

Although I do miss my S3's stance.

Next up after the head unit, it's getting slammed on some nice alloys

Suppose it's all about taste at the end of the day. The ST just doesn't do it for me. The RS however...

There are loads of St's about and they are not selling. The Mk5 Gti looks far better and will hold value.

KW V2, TEAM DYNAMICS PRO RACE 1.2, EIBACH ARBS, DS 2500 PADS, BLACK DIAMOND DISCS, LIGHTENED FLYWHEEL, CHIPPED ECU, VIBRA TECHNIC MOUNTS, JETEX DECAT,  FULLY POLYBUSHED

Seems funny hearing the mk5 being dismissed. There are a lot of good 200+BHP cars out there but the guys gone with a mk5 as he likes the thing. Yes mk5 can be had reasons my now but don't forget were are now on the 7th generation. Good value and reasonable engineered cars at the end of the day and he's stayed in the VW fold :afro:

Ultimately, it's ticked all of the boxes.

Quick - Yes
DSG - Yes
Low mileage - Yes
Economical - Yes
Blank Canvas - Yes
FSH - Yes

Also - the fact that I paid £5800 for a low mileage, mint example - when these on the bay or pistonheads are going for between 6500 for high milers and 8000 for low milers... I think I've got a bit of a bargain.

I love it, and would have a MK5 over an ST anyday.

Going to go for these alloys

This is what I'm looking for the end goal to look like:

But obviously in black..
