I do lots of short journeys around town and typically get 28mpg, which has dropped on the last tank to 26mpg (colder weather maybe?) - range at fill up showing around 300.

On a longish motorway run 40mpg without trying.

About the same for me too

When you fill up, the range will be calculated based on the average mpg for the last few miles, and will assume that you will continue driving like that. Trundle along a dual carriageway at 40mph for 20 miles, then fill up and could could well see a potential range of 600+ miles. Drive it like you stole it, then fill up and the range could be as low as 100 miles, but drive economically after than and the range to empty figure will increase.

I think that the feature is pretty pointless until you have below 1/4 of a tank of fuel and are miles from the next fuel station.
it scared me a few times the way it drops from 20 so quickly and then is suddenly 0

I'm sure it's been done to death, but is there any advantage to using Ultimate etc., I thought the EA888 engine was tuned to run on 95 ron.

...Awaits flaming.

I use normal 95 Ron from tesco's it says on the inside of the filler cap pretty sure you would get more mpg if you use the good stuff

The Fuel economy benefits seem harder to prove but the Higher Octane fuel will allow more timing advance which should produce better performance. The car will adapt to the fuel used.

I prefer that the quoted power figures are based on 95 rather than TFSI which specified 98 RON. I typically sit around 33 mpg on most journeys but 38-40 is achievable in steady conditions.

The best I have seen is 42 mpg and I know that can be beaten.

This is based on typical Commuting/Journeys.

Can't really rely on the range figures.

Filled tank up today (v power).  Just completed a 4 mile town journey in very heavy traffic which took 40 minutes.  Range at start of journey was 300 miles, now showing 235 miles!  Now got to do same again, so after 8 miles it'll probably be sub 200 mi.  Damn that Friday traffic!
