VW Specialist couldn't fix my car... PLEASE HELP!!
« on: 08 October 2013, 16:31 »
I bought my MK4 1.8T 2001 about 3 weeks ago, after a week of wonderful driving it started juddering and feeling like it was misfiring once it went past 2K revs. If I take my foot off the accelerator it'll stop but once you build up speed it will start again. So I took it to my local VW specialist VAG MANCHESTER and after running a diagnostics it showed the fault : 17705 Connection charger throttle valve pressure drop. So they carried out a smoke test, found a leak in the boost pipe and fixed it, or so we thought.

The car was still doing its juddering, when they cleared the fault the car would practically shut down and not run at all!! if the fault was registering it would run but not great again. They've had the throttle body out, cleaned etc, they don't think its a problem with the turbo, they even tried a new ECU with no success, still the same problem. Them and other specialists have tried to solve the issue and after a week haven't been able to sort it out. They told me they have tried everything possible with no luck, they even tried to solve it in their own time with no cost to me.

If anyone knows a better speciaist in the North West or has any idea what the problem could be, your help would be greatly appreciated! I don't know where else I can go with this.

Thanks.

It's ok I appreciate the help! According to the garage the coil packs / spark plugs are fine :/ I did mention the MAF and they said it's all a myth!
I will give vw a call tomorrow and see if it has been done though.

Hahaha I have don't worry! I don't have time to have a go at it till this weekend, I shall let you know what happens! Reckon it's worth unplugging it and giving it a run without the maf and see if there's any difference?
