We sealed the wheels up with Gyeon RIM, then applied a wheel wax every couple of months, so they are well protected.
It gets a bath every week, sometimes twice a week (can't stand a dirty car) Need to give it another strip down of the sealant, then reapply it for another 12 months.

Jetseal, is a cracking product though - Could tell it was well looked after though when we went to view it. It was like a new car.

I live in Rotherham, so not too far away. I noticed you'd kept all the receipts of all the work that had been carried out, and luckily VW kept it all in the car for me.

Totally love the car, and a complete different machine to my last which was a Mini Cooper S JCW.

Must be nice and a bit nostalgic to see your old car turn up here looking good and being well cared for.  I've always hoped I don't see my previous cars out on the road in case they are in a right state.  I would hate that.  But if they turn up on here looking like that

Yes it was almost like a private plate as well with the original number plate being JXR.
I like MK7 but seeing it again in such good condition is nice. It certainly got more care and attention then the MK7 has with moving last year.

Hi,

Just thought I would message you. Did you do all the Gyeon stuff yourself? Wheels and body.

I am looking at getting something done to mine when it gets a bit better weather. Just not sure what yet

Also just remembered looking at the pics at night I fitted rear number plate LEDs as they came out after I bought it. Still looks good and thought it added a nice touch to the LED lights. They are VW OEM if you need to replace them.

Hi,

Yeah, I put the coating on myself. I loved the gyeon coating and it has lasted 13 months and is still going strong. In the next month i will be doing it all over again but with two coats this time instead of the 1.

I do really love the car i just wish it had a little more growl to it. How is the mk7 for the noise?

Just been looking through my old photos and found a pic after I picked it up.

Was the coating easy to put on? That's the only trouble with a dark car that it will need polishing Properly where as silver was great for hiding marks in between waxing.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I don't get notifications to  say you had replied. The coating was easy enough to put on, it was the prep that took the longest. As you said getting rid of any marks on the paint work and the cleaning of the paint is the key. It took a long time to polish because you could only see them in the correct lighting. They are great for hiding marks but that was the reason why it took so long because it was hard to find them in  the first place.

I am due to strip it down this month and reapply. Might try another coating this time!

What is your new car like then? Enjoying it?

Yeah it's good ta. The steering and cornering seem to be the biggest differences. The spec I have is fairly similar as I specced your car up pretty well.

This is the new car

Hi All,

Thought I would share the results of my first proper DA use.

I washed the car using the 2 bucket method as I usaully do.
Clayed
Then used DA with Lime Prime
Then sealed with 2 coats of JetSeal 109
Then waxed with Dodo Juice Supernatural

Mite be missing something here but why did you da with a pre wax cleanser?

^^
Lime Prime contains mild abrasives so can be used as a light cutting compound with a DA as well as being a good pre wax cleanser.  It's pretty effective on light swirls. There's also now Lime Prime Plus which has heavier abrasives.

Lime prime light on the other hand has no abrasives, so is purely a cleanser.
