the transmission is still functioning. I will give sealant a go i think.
Wont work mate.
You have a split oil cooler in the rad or gearbox (not sure on vw boxes) when your engine reaches temp it will push through rad seal.
The sealer will go into the atf and make a huge mess.
You either bypass the oil cooler on the box/rad or go scrappy hunting for an intact part and fix it properly, rad seal is just a waste of money you would be better doing nothing and topping up with oil/water as needed :smiley:

Sounds like a plan...rather would just top up the fluids and just run for as long as possible. Will try to sort a new cooler from somewhere. I've taken a look at some in the scrapyard on a 2.0 but they seem different..
I was wondering if it is a possibility that I can tighten the hex nut (maybe this has become loose over time?) and that might stop it from leaking....don't really understand what those two hex nuts are there for.  Is it possible just to remove the hex nut part and just swap that out?
Or willl a tranny cooler from a 2.0 or similar compatible model do the job?

Just wondering....
