I have one of these, it's really good, small enough and lightweight enough to carry but really sturdy.
I've had my 60D and a 5D2 on this. £43, although I got mine in the sale for about £35 earlier in the year.
Manfrotto MKC3-P02

Ok, just re-read your post, so you have one day to buy it.
Where are you, Surrey?
If you can get to a Jessops.....
Jessops Store Finder
you could get one of these: Velbon DF61 £40
Currys also stock this Velbon for £28

Or get a better Manfrotto MKC3-H01 £50
Or you could get the same Manfrotto from Currys for £40 Here

Velbon are decent enough budget tripods, but since the Manfrotto are in the same price bracket, I'd go for those if you can.
The only issue is that they may not have these exact models in store.

If you were going into London at any point, I would suggest going to London Camera Exchange (The Strand) or Camera World (near Oxford Street) or Calumet (behind Euston station).

The MKC3-H01 is basically the same as mine (the MKC3-P02) except with a panning head for video, which I kinda wish I had now. But I hardly use mine, so it's not a big problem.

If you're walking around doing video, monopods are quite popular because you don't need to set up 3 legs each time you want to shoot.

I got the same one from Argos. Same situation as you - needed one at the last minute. Imagine it should be fine for your needs.

Hope so mate I don't even know what I'm doing  worried about the lighting as it will be very bright and packed out two day event and hope it goes well TBH.

I liked the mono pods saw them aswell, maybe a later purchase.
I've been out of photography for so long now I want to come back but just can't get my head around functions not that I need them but feel bad I have a decent camera I just simply do not use at all "where has the passion gone LOL"    :lipsrsealed:

Is this a expo in a busy hall? Surely you'd be better bumping ISO up and shooting hand held.

Setting up a tripod in a busy place will be a nightmare.

It went well over the last two days, got a few good shots and the tripod was used early on when it wasn't busy.
I did group the legs up and made a single tripod to move around better it worked for me and its nice bit of kit. There was obviously better equipment on the show made me feel quite inadequate

Glad it was useful.

That inadequate feeling is annoying, then it becomes gear envy, then gear lust, then if you're not careful, you fall into gear acquisition syndrome (GAS).
I'm trying desperately NOT to spend silly money on a lens right now.

Get a couple of photos up to see what it was like.

Cool but they will be generic due to clients wishes  :lipsrsealed:

It was a food expo but I only had small window to do the shots I was learning about people and it was a long ass two days got up at 6.30am got to expo 9.00 finished 6.00 got home 8.00pm.
Hard work they do the food industry plus its cloak and dagger with prices, supplying manufacturing and BS
Nah don't have enough monies to get GAS  Shame I wanted to speak to other photographers but everyone was just too busy! I'll load a pic or two Sunday have a full day today with family but will review them this evening!
