It's not done until it's on the drive but I have paid a deposit on a nearly new Clubsport. I only wanted to sit in one but one thing led to another then post test drive we got to talking numbers and they offered me far far more for my TCR than I could've ever imagined such that I couldn't say no. The weird thing was the original owner of the car I'm buying was the original owner of the TCR and he wanted to buy it back! He was a serial buyer and the dealer gave him a call to seal the deal.

What a cool, yet bizarre turn of events! It was clearly meant to be? :)

Looking forward to your thoughts comparing the CS to the TCR.

I think that sticking with a FWD Golf rather than moving to a RWD BMW was a good decision when you’ll be using it all year round in all weather conditions. I look forward to seeing the pictures; are you going to disclose what colour it is or make us wait until you post up some pictures?

Like @clubsport, I also look forward to hearing your thoughts on your new car when you get it :smiley:.
2020 Polo GTI Plus; Pure White, DSG (because they all are)
Gone but not forgotten;
2016 Polo GTI; Blue Silk
2011 mk6 Golf GTD; Carbon Grey
2007 mk5 Golf GT (2.0 170bhp TDI version); Deep Black Pearl
2002  mk4 Golf GTI (the 150 bhp diesel version); Deep Black Pearl

It was rather surreal. Apparently he's bought 50+ cars from them over the last few years. He must have a thing for white cars as he had a white CS40 sitting there too.

You're right about FWD vs RWD, but I wanted a change so looked at lots of options. Clubsport was right though when he said the performance Golfs were the best all rounders. Even though there are elements of the 8.5 interior that I'm not keen on, as soon as I got in and went for a drive I was sold.

It's another Oryx white. I really wanted red and a sunroof, got neither of those. But it's a Black Edition with Performance Pack includind Akra exhaust and Estorils (the hated diamond cut unfortunately but they look good for now, if they don't last I'll get them powder coated black) with HUD and area view. It does look very smart.
Current - 2019 Oryx White 5dr TCR.
Incoming - 2025 Oryx Black Edition Clubsport with Performance Pack.
Was - 2015 Tornado Red 3dr GTI PP, manual, Santiagos, Audi short shifter.

Nice spec :cool: and not many days to wait until it’s on your driveway; one of the big benefits of buying a nearly new or an in-stock new car, unlike a ‘built to order’ car that might take months to arrive.
