Only problem with period films, they are not usually right and over drama everything to make it look good 
The 6 wheeled Tyrrell only did a couple of seasons iirc it was 76 to 78, and possibly dumped because of updated regulations, I'm sure it'll be well explained on Wiki...
The 76 season was quite literally unbelievable, and is generally the reference point that people refer to when they say that F1 isn't like it used to be!
If you want to know what F1 used to be like, go and watch a "Formula Ford" race at any circuit!
