TDI-tuning.co.uk are marketing a plug in tuning box that claims 239PS and 495Nm torque. Can't say i've experienced it myself, but my dad had one of their boxes on his MK5 GT 170TDI DSG that was rated to uprate power to 200PS. It upped his power noticeably as well as his fuel economy. His MK5 with that box was more economical than his current MK7 GTD DSG.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Yes please resize the picture to something more suitable for a forum like 640 x 480 or 1024 x 768.

Why do you want to remap the car so soon...not happy with the performance?

Download the photobucket app. for photo hosting.

I'd also be inclined to go for a TDI-tuning box if I had a GTD (wish I'd ordered a GTD now!)

Through old contacts from a previous life I know that the big UK tuners haven't got much in the pipeline for the current range as they're so slow coming through a lot of them don't even have access to cars to investigate yet and the ECU's will need work in deciphering the encryption. Tuning boxes were where TDI tuning took off in the 90s and it seems to have gone full circle.
There could be a long wait for a TDI ECU remap unless you put your own car forward as their development mule!!!

Is there something about a DSG box only being able to cope with torque up to 450Nm?? Thinking I may get my GTD DSG tuned when it finally arrives. Not seen any other boxes than the one you mention MH. Wonder what that would do for your 0-60 sprint?

Neil: Not sure if it would improve your 0-62mph much, purely as a consideration of traction. There’s 0.6s 0-62 between a GTD and an A3 Quattro with the same engine – that’s what traction can do for you on a diesel with a huge slug of initial torque. Not sure whether the “anti-tramping system” would improve the 0-62 times appreciably with the power increase.

In gear acceleration I would expect to be phenomenal for a 2.0L diesel though – should easily beat a GTI PP on an in-gear sprint if the headline figures are correct.

I looked on the website and watched the video. I have to say I'm mighty confused about the to good to be true products they're selling!

I mean, if attaching a little box that costs a few hundred quid can give you such a performance boost as well as an extra 4-6mpg, why aren't manufacturers using these things, or tuning the engine like this as standard? It just seems to ridiculous to be real
