I ordered it as although I'm really pleased with the sound in MK5 I wanted the a bit more bass and have to admin I'm know to turn it up :)

Had a Harmon Kardon system in two of my BM's that was out of this world, a BOSE system in another car which was slightly underwhelming.

Haven't heard it so don't know what to expect yet

I would have thought the fact it is over 4 times more powerful than the standard set up will therefore mean increased clarity etc at low to mid  volumes where you are likely to listen to most of your music
If you then want to pump the tunes out then the advanced speaker materials etc can handle the increase at higher volumes

All bases covered then and the speakers complement the interior also!!!

I had the standard set up in my mk6 and agree it is very good as standard systems go.and agre therefore that this can only be better!
If yoiu can justify it and afford it then it is correct.

Also, don't forget, just like home hifi, speakers and amps in a car need a running in period to give their best, so "maybe" some of the demo cars just didn't have the speakers run it ?

Like I said, I've ordered it and am hoping it's a worthwhile investment (can't be any worse than the standard set up). Certainly if it's as good as the Audi Sound system in the A3 (not the £800 BOSE setup), then I'll be delighted as that was superb, and just needed a bit of tweaking of the amp volume as well as the DSP settings.

I'll let you all know when it arrives, as I like my Rock music thumping

Hi all,

can anybody whos got DynAudio test their sub at max strength with the boot open?
Does it sound that deep and loud?
Mine is definately outputting sound but its not really that loud
It could be that its designed to work with the boot shut etc but even when in the car I am not getting deep bass. (quality of mp3's?)
I can turn the audio to 50% volume and there is no distortion but I can't make out if the sub bass is reaching into the cabin or not.

Perhaps the system is that good you can't localise the bass from the sub?
All thoughts welcome.

I love my Dynaudio... I get the base and the clarity is awesome... The friends I've had in the car are blown away by it. Normally set to driver mode.

So far I found Dynaudio a little hit and miss. I am going to rerip all my stuff in aac format and try a couple of reference CD's I have as the mp3s I normally listen to dont sound right no matter what settings I use. And speaking of which I do find the settings a little limited, and you cant seem to setup per source preferences. Shame.

I've been loving my DynAudio.  I think it helped that I spent two days immediately before receiving the car driving a Mk7 GT with a standard stereo, you can definitely tell the difference between the two.

Not sure about the sub thing with the boot open, my days of car shows and Mc Donald's car parks are over so haven't tried it

Perhaps I need to meet up with a fellow GTi'er with DynAudio to compare, just to see if there is something wrong with me

I've got it and it sounds excellent, though I can't comment on how much better it is than the stock system as I didn't try one.

I find that it gets better the louder you have it - at low volumes I think it'd be hard to tell it apart from a normal stereo, but I can have it as loud as I find comfortable (which is around 50% volume) and there's no hint that the system is straining, the bass is still there but not too wooly and the treble doesn't get harsh.

The biggest problem with turning it up is that the bass can make things vibrate in the door pockets (not the trim or panels, just the stuff in the pockets) and if they're on the other side of the car and you can't reach them then you can be stuck with an annoying buzz for hours on the motorway!
