Track rods

Hi everyone,I need to change my track rods and I believe there were 2 differnt racks used.is there any way of checking which rack is fitted.its a 1992 gti 8v.Any help would be great  :smiley:

Hi
At my local motor factors, GSF or Euro Car Parts I give them my number plate and they should then be able to confirm the correct one.  You can then use the info to search on ebay if need be, but GSF and ECP would be my first port of call.

Just had a quick look at work  there are manual steering ,trw powered steering ,zf powered steering-lhd only ,

give these part numbers to your local motor factor they shoul be able to xref

Manual steering Rack End LH & RH M14x1.5 RHT male thread FTR 4446

Powered steering Rack End LH & RH M14x1.5 RHT male thread FTR 4448

Tie rod ends if u need em same on both powered/manual

Tie Rod End - Outer LH M14x1.5 RHT female thread FTR 4239
Tie Rod End - Outer RH M14x1.5 RHT female thread FTR 4169
