DIY braided fuel lines
« on: 27 August 2013, 23:15 »
Hey guys, seeing as I am having a complete and utter nightmare finding myself stainless steel braided fuel lines for my engine, I have decided to look into making my own, I found this....
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stainless-Steel-Braided-Hose-Rubber-Over-Braid-Fuel-Line-Hose-Petrol-OverBraid-/270955419316?pt=UK_DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&var=570075585064&hash=item3f163396b4

looks like it will do the job, however I am unsure of what Diameter the pipe needs to be, also Im thinking I could use the same pipe for my coolent, again im not knowing the Dia of the pipe so any help would be great :)

With the pressures involved I would leave the fuel lines to a specialist.

Might be worth having a word with Rhyso but a good hose supplier should be able to help.

Abbey hose or pirtex would be able to supply what you need, measure what you want and thread sizes on the end and they will make what you need, I used these on a 3dr cossie race car many years ago.

Not sure on Pirtek these days as HSE limits them a little as to what they can and cannot do.
