Mine came with the standard 30pin iPhone/iPod lead which is great as i have an iPhone 5...

Can you not just connect the iPhone 5 via Bluetooth Audio? Is it easy? Have you tried?

This is exactly what i do. However it would have been good for charging. Not a problem now the dealer has supplied the USB lead too.

Thats good to hear. Does it play quickly and smoothly from your iPhone 5?

The phone function works perfectly. The audio quality is fantastic, however for some strange reason i have no control over the audio functions apart from the volume via bluetooth. To select an artist/playlist i have to select it on the iPhone itself. I have read other people have had this issue with other bluetooth ICE.

Can you not scroll through tracks using the buttons on the steering wheel?

I can do that yes. But that is about it. It will only control the current album/playlist/artist you can't choose to listen to another artist for example. You have to manually select it on the phone first. Most frustrating.

Has anyone heard anything further on the availability of a lightning connector? Seems to be taking ages.

I'm going to get an iPhone 5S as soon as they go on sale and would be nice to be able to charge it and use it for music without having to revert to bluetooth audio.  I really depend on the car for charging the phone as I use it for Navigation as well.

Is your flux capacitor broken? I don’t think the GTIs and GTDs need 1.21 Gigawatts.

The car will definitely charge the phone, but until VW supply a lead for iPhones 5 and upwards you'll need the lightning adaptor - £25 in the Apple store.

Or you could ask the dealer to supply a standard USB adapter and then use the USB cable supplied with your iPhone to charge it.

In my Scirocco using the usb does not allow music to be played through media in.
Also when I use the lightning adaptor on the normal lead it allows me to play music but for some reason charging is slow at best.
most frustrating

Can anyone confirm what happens in the GTI?
Ordered a Golf GTI DSG Performance Pack in Pure White with Keyless Entry, Dynaudio, Rear View Camera and Panoramic Roof.

Currently driving a Scirocco 170 GT in Night Blue with Bluetooth, Rear Parking Sensors, DAB and Dynaudio.

Can't say about that, haven't got mine yet, but my current polo GTI has the same issue, can't play audio through the USB cable connected via the lighting cable on my iphone 5, only works with the old 30 pin cable and using the apple lighting connector
