it's exactly the same as the iPhone cable except is has a micro USB end

Ahh right ok thanks. So is the port some weird connector and you need a cable off vw to make it a usb connection?

Yes mate, it has VW's "media in" connection at one end and a female USB connection at the other.

So theyre giving iphone / ipod adapters out? Urgh why. If they give the usb one it covers all bases including iphone. Cant you request the other? If not where the heck do you get the usb cable from lol. 28k car and no cable

Sorry to raise this one again but does anyone have the usb cable connector with their car or where can you get one in place of the ipod one?

Mine came with the standard 30pin iPhone/iPod lead which is great as i have an iPhone 5...

Needless to say i asked for a standard USB cable and received one with no problems. So now i have both!

Can you not just connect the iPhone 5 via Bluetooth Audio? Is it easy? Have you tried?

This is exactly what i do. However it would have been good for charging. Not a problem now the dealer has supplied the USB lead too.
