Surely the factory has accepted the order as soon as you get your VW order number? They'd probably wriggle out of it by saying VW UK gave your dealer that order number and that the factory didn't accept VW UK's placement of your order until the following 19th of the month.

I think this is exactly what they'll say.

Sorry to open up an old thread but it's better than starting a new one I think. I have now been waiting 22 weeks for my car, VW tell me that I am entitled To a courtesy car after 20 weeks, however they have decided that it is 20 weeks from when the order is accepted. For me this is on Monday.

I have just got a phone call from the dealer telling me that the request for a courtesy car gets processed on Monday and I should get something within a few days.

It seems to me that they haven't got a clue what is going on. I'm not overly bothered about the car but am getting fed up with receiving phone calls from the dealer telling me that VW are dicking them about and they don't know the processes.

I'm sick of it.

You are entitled to the car Monday. Not a few days after. They arrange this within a few hours via Europa Car. I got a call from Europa Car 4.30pm, the next day I had the car - so they can sort this tomorrow.  Be prepared to get a 1.2 Golf S like me though

If I don't get anything I am off on business trips next week in my 67 beetle.

It may be time for the dealer to step up and make things happen. I'm not holding my breath though.

Tell them you are entitled to the car and you need it monday.  Say that if you do not get the car monday then you are happy you hire a Golf yourself and forward them the invoice.  They owe you a car and you're doing them a favour helping them out while they puzzle over their processes.  I'm sure they wouldn't want you to have to complain to VWUK that they aren't helping you.

See what they say after the above.
