Just rang VW UK. They couldn't get through to the sales team who can check a car's progress, so i'm supposedly on callback for when the rep can get through to them - i'm not holding my breath.

Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

From reading posts here in general it seems all those how have a confirmed build wk33, w/c 11.08 will be OK for a late September delivery. Those who haven't might be dragged into wk51. Anyway, all good things come to those who wait..........

I was weighing up a trip to the audi dealership to discuss what's on offer but I reckon those who pull out in haste will repent at their leisure.....
GTD White 5dr, ACC, Sunroof, winter pack, in transit.......

Brilliant MH - I did that about 10 mins ago as well, and I was told exactly the same thing!!

I was assured by the chap that I'd get a callback from him before 4pm - I too am not holding my breath!

Before 4pm? I was given no such promise - they'll probably ring me at 3:45 if they ring at all - I will have left 5 mins earlier to pick up the missus from work.

Well I asked him would I get a reply today, and he said usually they get back to him latest within 2 hours so I'll call you latest 4pm.  I would be shocked if either of us gets a callback to be honest.

Matchboy: Prepare to be shocked, they just rang me back, but pretty much told me fu(k all. According to them, it can be built within 2 weeks of the confirmed build week and still be considered on time. I assume from what she said she either didn't check with sales (because she couldn't get through), or it hasn't been started yet and she's conveniently skirted the issue. She will apparently phone me back same time next week with an update.

I agree here, I have just phoned up about an Ex demonstrator fro another dealer. I can have it next month but it will have 3,000 miles on it, its a similar spec and price as a new one so I thought it would be easy.

However because I am buying on solutions different rules apply for used cars, the monthly payment is £100 more per month.

I think waiting may be the best option.

Besides I am crossing my fingers that I can get a registration like this  'GO14 GTD'

I've literally fallen off my chair in shock at the level of detail they have provided you

I did not know about the 'built within 2 weeks' rule - this is new to me.  So now, according to VW, a build confirmed week is actually a build confirmed 2 weeks

I haven't had my callback as yet (SHOCKER!) but I'll report back when I do.  Given the delays coming through today from others, I'm bracing myself from a mid Sep delivery now being late Sep/early Oct.

Well.  Cr4p.

I was unconfirmed BW38 (not 39 as I previously thought) and was expecting to go confirmed next Friday.  Contacted my dealer and have been told that there are delays with the GTD's and that at present I have no unconfirmed BW at all any more.  I have tried to press for the reason for the delay and have been told it is out of the hand of the retailers and is a factory issue in Germany.
