Air Con Condensor

Seems my GT requires a new air con condensor.  Anyone know where the best place is to purchase one of these (other than stealers or TPS) and also how much i should be looking to pay?

Also is possible to recondition the existing air-con condensor and would this be advisable?

How olds the car, my 35 had its done before I sold it and they reckoned it was a common fault. Even if its Over three years old you might get some 'good will'?

Mine was damaged when the car was about 7 months old, new one was about £120 from the Internet

Mine is a 2009 reg, i have heard it is a common fault as well

Write to VW uk and see if you can get some good will.

now are we talking air con compressor...... or condenser (a rad mounted at the front of the car to dissipate the heat from the system.... which could be prone to damage from stone chips etc???)

Not so sure now...

It looks like a cylinder and is mounted behind the radiator.  Connects to a plug and has what looks like a bolt that goes through the middle of it?

Sounds like it doesn't it. Does it have a pulley on the left side with a belt around it? If so, it's the compressor
