Immobiliser Active!
« on: 05 August 2013, 09:44 »
Hi all...

So I've had the car for just over 2 weeks and all is fantastic, however over the weekend within 24 hours the immobiliser active warning came up twice. Both times removed the key, tried again and she started perfectly. I'm just wondering if it could be something as simple as my key? It is seriously loose within the fob and has a major wobble going on. Took the fob apart and all the plastic is worn right down at the part the key blade sits.
I have been told it could be something to do with the connectors on the back of the instrument cluster or the connector for the ignition switch pickup coil. These are still to be checked.
So i am wondering how likely it would be that the key is causing the problem?
