I'm currently collecting up parts for my 16v whilst I'm incapacitated with a broken shoulder, one of the next main jobs that I want done is to have my new clutch and lightened flywheel fitted.
Seeing as the gearbox is coming off I thought it would be good idea to replace it with a lower mileage one seeing as they can be be picked very cheaply these days plus I could spruce it up with paint etc ready for a quick exchange.
I've just sourced one on ebay locally but it's a CDA code box, IIRC mine is a DPA (need to double check tomorrow ). From what I understand they share the same ratios and the CDA was on earlier 16v's and fazed out after 96 and replaced with the DPA... What I'd like to know is why exactly, are the DPA boxes more reliable, did they change the oil capacity or something?
