Marshy, thanks for that as it might be worth mentioning when they come back with their response.

No problem.
Bet they tell you that they've never seen this before but will give you a goodwill gesture.

Yeah I'm expecting that. If they gave us some money towards the replacements I'd be happy, at the end of the day Bev had about 11500 miles out if them before identifying the problem.

Thats pretty shocking tbh, looking at them what do you think the likelyhood of them blowing out would be? I think i'd be pushing for the full cost of replacements at least mate, what could've happened if they'd let go with Bev at the wheel on the motorway? Doesn't bare thinking about!!!

It's interesting that they have changed the shoulder design on the 'same model' tyre too - the amount of rubber that sticks out?

Old:-

New:-

I've found this on other brand tyres too. The OEM fitted tyres from the factory have very little rim protection yet the 'identical' tyres I've replaced the originals with have much more robust looking sidewalls.
The just smacks to me that the OEM fit tyres are built to a minimal cost.

It's all a bit shocking really! We joke that the cab was a Friday afternoon car cos we've had a few things wrong with it.

Old thread revival!!!!!!!

Well we finally got a call from the dealer yesterday about Bevs tyres. Bridgestone have accepted that it is a fauly and have sent us a cheque for £150, which I'm more than happy about considering the old tyres had done over 10k.

To any of you new mk6 owners, check ya tyres!

Cheers
