The hole was fine, but because of the angle it could not sit properly and I could only put one bolt in for starters to secure it in place. Even from doing this the s2k filter was still too big for the shield forcing it to sit on an awkward angle . Also there was a spare hole cut out roughly 80-86mm in diameter which was meant for a cold air feed pipe. So it was letting extra heat in as I couldnt use the piping because the battery was in the way

So all in all it wasn't working for me.

But a few people have told me that I don't need the heatshield anyway, so I'm not sure what to do. Get a smaller filter or keep the s2k but don't use it.

I have asked before but not got much info really....

How many have used these filters without a shield and it's been fine ?

Best way check just take it for a good blast then when you park up touch the filter and see if its boiling hot.

Mine stays cool withh the heat shield even after hard drive. But i av pipercross foam filter on mine.
