Is long life servicing a bad long term idea for the gti?!

Hiya all,
As per my other post about engine flushing:
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=256507.0
Is long life servicing a bad long term idea for the gti?!
Ie the old oil Ganges up the engine over time:
Dull performance
Poor mpg etc
Or should one simply just ask for engine flush when the car is next serviced?!
(is regular engine flushing bad?!)
Hope you can advise!
Cheers
Martin

just change your oil every 10k miles or once a year (whatever is earlier) and it will thank you for it. then you won't need an engine flush.
VW will also not use any engine flush stuff - not allowed by them.

engine flushes are a bad idea unless you plan on takes the sump of straight after to clean all the muck out.
