The last owner of my Golf decided to try and 'home spray' two doors a front panel and the front 3rd of the bonnet, presumably in an effort to give the 12 year old paint work a bit of a face lift, however in doing so he has managed to make the sections incredibly matt and it looks really nasty.
So my question is, what canI do to return it to the best that I can do without re-spraying or vinyl wrap etc as I am on a tight budget I have £40-£50 to spend.
I have tried cleaning, polishing, waxing and T-Cuting but none of this touched it. I took it to a local body work shop to see what they suggested and they managed to fetch the paint off of the front panlel and it looks great with the 'chemicals' that they have. so I only have left the doors and part of the bonnet left to do however he quoted me £450 to do the doors and the bonnet with the chemical rub down and then a wax and buff, I explained that this was too much and asked if I could buy the 'chemicals' to do it myself but they said no.
Does anyone know what they are likely to be using and if and where I can get some, or any other ideas?!
Any suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jack.
