Rust????????????????
« on: 12 August 2005, 16:43 »
Hi,
Have a mk1 which has started to show a bit of rust....

I noticed that most people replace the panels if any rust is displayed. Can re-spraying the car, does it make any difference if you use the same panels or new ones?

Cheers

As long as you traet the rust and make sure that it has all gone b4 you spray it you will be allright for a good while, if a proper job has been done.

problem with rust is that the only real cure is to cut it right out, alot of people grind it down and try to get rid of it but unless you cut it right out it will continue to come back, its like cancer , cut it out befor it spreads!!!

thats why alot of spray shops wont give you a gaurantee on rust
