Ha Ha that's the Surrey TAX they shaft you with!
TBF @ 35 that's where the problems start same boat I have two crowns due to over crowding and rotting teeth that I could clean properly. Regular visit one a year should be fine if they rob you!
I find mouth wash is really good for gum diseases and daily flossing you will find so much left over food stuck in you're teeth it only starts to fester and rot and make gums bleed like a biatch.

I will only go if something hurts. I do not use mouth wash or dental floss. Does alcohol count as mouth wash, hope so .

My (pissed) Friend once drunk about half a bottle of mouthwash on the basis it was slightly alcoholic or something, he was abit iffy/sick the morning after, but at least his breathe was minty fresh.

Went in for my hygienist appointment yesterday. It wasn't as bad as I thought, a little uncomfortable at times, but she did say she wasn't getting really underneath the gum line until next time (a few months). She did however get rid of ALOT of crap from my teeth. I couldn't believe how much I could see and feel. One bit that came out was huge!

Mouth feels so much better now though, and I'm eager to get the rest done now. Since my little episode last week I am keen to look after my teeth.

On the plus side, she said that my brushing technique is excellent, and suggested I don't change anything in that department (thank you Oral B Electric Toothbrush!).  I just need to floss daily and use these wire brushes for the bigger gaps (these feel strange).

I've got half a wisdom tooth as it snapped due to a fork  :lipsrsealed:, nerve is on show and gum is slightly swollen, the dentists is probably my only fear and hate going, but been taking pain killers and they're hardly covering the pain and waking up at least twice a night in pain, I will more than likely ask to get referred to the hospital to be put to sleep to have it taken out

I would do the exact same mate. No way in hell do I want to be concious if they have to remove a wisdom tooth. Only got the one showing at the moment but it feels like it's growing ok. Only time will tell. I know the feeling of pain from it too, mine decided to have a 3 day growth spurt which came out of nowhere and that's what caused me so much pain. Painkillers do bugger all don't you think?

I have the same at the moment, half my tooth fell off about a year or so ago and never had any pain until a month ago, now anything hot or cold in my mouth gives a horrible shooting pain that doesnt go away unless i take some really strong cocodamol which knocks me out, normal painkillers just dont cut it.
Im not registered at a dentist anymore as i havent been for couple of years and theyre not taking on new patients so not sure what to do.
Do you have to pay to have one taken out in hospital?
