I don't like going. I had a piece break off a tooth years ago, but as it didn't hurt I didn't do anything about it until one day I bit on something and the hit the nerve, so I had to go. I turned up first thing without even ringing to make an appointment. He saw me straight away and put in a temporary filling and told me to go back in a couple of weeks. After around a month, the temporary filling was just starting to wear down. I quick google and I found that Boots sold DIY temporary filling kits, so I got one and kept patching it up myself...for 5 years.
Last year tho', enough was enough and I had to make an appointment as there was getting less and less tooth left to patch up. There was nothing for it but to take the tooth out. I'd heard all sorts of horror stories about extractions going wrong, but this one came straight out and I honestly didn't feel a thing.
I've needed a bit more work since as because I'd been avoiding chewing on the bad tooth for so long, I'd worn down the enamel on my front teeth. After working myself up into such an anxious state before, going to have this other work done was not quite as bad. I am determined to keep going and stay on top things before they get out of hand again. I still get worked up about going, but I find things like Rescue Remedy help no end as long as I does myself up a day or so before.
