Author Topic: Diesel knock harsh noise since remap GTD 170 (solved with Revo software)  (Read 13832 times)

I had my remap done nearly 3 months ago and noticed the difference in engine noise right away. Since having warmer weather and having windows down etc its really annoying me now and I want it sorted.
I found the engine note seemed more harsh with diesel knock at low rpms.
I've compared 2 other cr 170's and found them very quiet with the engine note getting quieter when lifting off idle.
Before remap mine was like this but not anymore.
I'm going to log my car and my dads cr 170 does anyone know what to log?
Timing etc?

I've not travelled to them yet but have been in contact via email etc.
I've not had a reply since Thursday!
Going to log cars today and ring them tomorrow.

Tell me about it.
I've learnt the hard way. I returned yesterday and had a revised map which has made the engine less harsh but now the car sounds like its got a boost leak!
I've replaced the intercooler I-rings and pressure tested the intercooler and all the pipework up to 28 psi and have no boost leak.
I'm sure its a problem in the mapping now and wish if left the car standard.
Now I'm nearly £400 lighter and my car isn't right.

I asked them to put it back to standard yesterday and enquiried about getting a refund but I was told there was nothing wrong with the software!!!!!
At the moment its spoiled my car and it looks like its going to cost me to fix!

Wasted 3 days trying to sort my car.
On Tuesday I returned to Sedox performance due to my harsh diesel knock on my cr170. After getting a revised map flashed my car then sounded like it had a boost leak!
After road testing and having lack of power another 3 different files were flashes on and none were any better.
After leaving with the first revised map and poor power and performance I limped the 90 miles home.
I've spent the last couple of days replacing the intercooler o-ring seals and pressure testing all the pipework from the turbo to the throttle body all if which is leak free as I tested it up to 28psi.
I've researched the turbo actuator problem but the vacuum side works perfect and no vacuum loss. I've tried disconnecting the airflow meter which doesn't make any difference.
I logged the car lastnight and it does eventually make target boost pressure but higher up the revs than previous.
Anyone any ideas?
