jom coilovers rubbing?
« on: 23 June 2013, 18:22 »
Hello all,

I fitted my JOM coilovers at the weekend with the help of a couple of friends to get the old suspension off! (Very rusty and took a good few hours!).

They are as low as they go on the back which is 70mm which is fine with no rubbing. When I put the driverside down it rubs on the inside of the tire. So I have to have the coilover at the top which is 30mm lower than standard. I can lower the passenger front side with no rubbing.

Has anyone had this issue before? I think I need spacers to go down lower on the front. Any idea's or are spacers the way to go?

what wheels and tyres are you using? perhaps use a 5-10 mm spacer?

Common problem when lowering, a 5mm spacer will solve it.

If I get spacers I want to go out as far out as I can without tyres rubbing on the outside arch. Whats the biggest size spacers I can go for?

Depends on the width and offset of the wheels?

Got myself some 5mm spacers for the front and have put the coilovers down to 60mm and no rubbing!!

Sitting nice and lowwwwww now at 70mm on the back and 60mm on the front
