you've got to be careful using wax on white cars as over time it can turn the car creamy. I'm sure someone said using sealant is better than wax ok white but the full on ocd guys will know for sure.
Using wax on a white car is perfectly ok, the reason it will go creamy over time is because the majority of people don't remove old products before applying fresh stuff and it builds up, the same would happen with sealant if given enough coats but because they tend to be thinner and more opaque it would take many more coats.
One of my favourite products is a bit old school but still gets great reviews on DW, Auto Glym Super Resin Polish is a fantastic all round product, it doesn't cost much and because it's filler heavy will cover a lot of swirls as well as minor scratches, if used with a damp applicator goes a long way and doesn't get too powdery when buffing off, the biggest problem with it is it doesn't last as long as it could but if you like looking after your car then thats not a big issue.
