Gonna have to mate, I've accepted a jib with my bro and it means 35k per year in miles, so the Edi will just be murdered. I've got a decent budget with the job so currently looking at a loaded A5 sport back or 330d m sport. Gutted really cos I'd love to keep her for shows etc. if the wife's cab didn't sit so wrong financially she'd go into it.

would also vouch for Ginge's being a superb example of the 35, also not many 3 door manuals with watkins glens

Cheers mate, you never know there might be some little bits and bobs going for sale.

Ouch! Been there done that, I used to have an Mk5 R32 doing 30k per year, I kept it for 2 years until I realised how much money I was spending just on fuel

Good luck with the new job and with the sale of the car

Me and bev have agreed that we could really do with a 4/5 door car in out house and seeing as this will be a bit of a work horse then I guess it's mine and I can't bring myself to have a Golf in the 'more door' guise. Sorry to all of those rocking 5 doors.

You hate 5 door golfs that much!!

Steady on mate, you'll trigger the old 3 door v 5 door debate again

I can understand the 3-5 door debate when talking about Mk2's, but I think that larger cars suit 5 doors much better. Besides, 5 doors generally mean kids, which means your plumbing works, which subconsciously the ladies find quite attractive.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Haha!   Must be very subconscious.    As a lady I can honestly say I've never looked at a bloke driving a 5 door and thought 'ooh, he must be fertile'.........but keep thinking that
