Bluetooth is nice. It was standard on later cars. The Luxury Pack adds folding and reverse dipping passenger side mirror. Parking sensors and a rear view camera are also a good selling point. You can have Park Assist, but I don't know of anyone who's been brave enough to use it. Other than a sunroof, I can't think of anything else worth looking out for.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

The car I liked has now sold, so now looking at a ed35. Are the worth the extra money or should I still look for a gti?

Candy white Edition 35, lux pack, TPMS. Plus lots of small mods at the right price.

Sell your car privately for more money than you would get as a trade in, then buy Neil's car for less money than the dealer would want for it. You'll be £2-3K better off that way. Even if it means buying a £500 stop gap to ride round in. There would be no shame in doing that, especially if you're saving so much money.

And you can be sure that Ginge's car has been very well looked after and maintained.  The evidence is on this forum

would also vouch for Ginge's being a superb example of the 35, also not many 3 door manuals with watkins glens
