Colour on mine are blue, pink, yellow spots (MY 2010). Would rate mine 5/6.

Had a front coil spring break on a Vauxhall after 5 years and the pair were replaced free of charge after I found out that there was a faulty batch shared with Saabs of about the same age! Could be a faulty batch?
Mk6 GTI Carbon Grey, 2010 Bluetooth and voice fitted, a few VCDS mods still a comfortable family car. Red Scirocco 2011 twin charger stage 1 - enjoyable drive now gone.  White 2016 Polo GTI (roller skate on steroids) replaced with an Indium Grey 2019 7.5 GTI PP.

Ok guys, after calling them and getting more info, they said the top of them had worn a way a bit, so therefore not sitting flush on the arms. So they said these new batch are much tougher and double painted so no bare spots where corruption can enter and should lest 5-10.

My rear suspension stiffness is one at the moment, but then I can turn it to ten just by moving the setting on my Bilstein B16 PSS10's..........which just happen to have ten settings

Seriously though for the road I wouldn't want the rear to be much stiffer than setting one!

Even on track I don't set it higher than eight.

I'd love to mock you John but I went down to 2 from 3 on mine when I dropped it a bit more, I think my wife would have had two black eyes

Having never really thought about the subject until this thread was started I'm inclined to think about 2 or 3.

I've done a few quickish A road runs recently and the arse end seems to wallow too much even driving at 6 tenths.

Yesterday evening I had a really good 60 odd mile cross country run on some excellent roads in warm dry weather, not driving silly either having wife and teenage sons in the car, but I really did find the standard suspension a bit soggy accelerating out of fast roundabouts in the middle of nowhere.

The trouble is the GTI has a good blend of comfort and handling as standard and I'd be loathe to change anything after having at least a dozen cars with modified suspension that I grew to gradually hate.

if its standard suspension your running the rear rebound is nowhere near matched to the springs

if you hit 2 bumps in succession the rear cant compose itself following the first bump in time and makes the rear end skip.

the rebound is far too fast (or soft)

i wouldnt say the GTI suspension was hard at all. not very well damper'd for the spring or weight of the car though IMO.
