My week 36 went to 10 days Friday evening and a ship docked in Grimsby this morning. Hoping that it was on that one. Not long to wait now. Not sure how long the journey from Emden to Grimsby takes, but a man can hope!

While I am happy for you, also slightly annoyed that your week 36 has beaten my week 33 to the UK!

There seems to be no reason behind the shipping rota. The fact that a BW 36 but not built till BW 38 can arrive before a BW 33 is farcical.

Keep in touch as a fellow GTI owner in Lincolnshire....do you go on track days..? Ive done Cadwell quite a few times and plan taking the Golf when I eventually get it.

My dealer just rang me to confirm that it is in Grimbsy. They have said that they are going to send a single transporter down to pick it up as my wait has been so long. As this is the only time they have actually had any influence over when I get the car I'm quite pleased with this. Said that if it goes to plan I could have it by the weekend. Not holding my breath but we shall see.  They did however day that this is so they can also get the car off their books by the end of the quarter. Not sure who's doing who a favour but I'm not fussed as long as I get the thing! Fingers crossed!

my dealer e mailed me today saying car  is  in the country 
 so I am going to arrange to pick it up next Tuesday 1 st October 
VW tracker says car is still on dockside in Germany  and 3 weeks  to go 
ordered 1st june so it will be about 18 weeks from start to finish

If its in the country why are you waiting till next Tuesday?  If you're happy waiting that's fair enough but basically once its cleared customs the dealer can have transport requested and have it within a day - then the PDI takes 2-3 hours.  Depends on how long you've been waiting but harassing them gets you your car quicker ie. for the weekend!

got a load of rubble to take to the council tip this weekend so may as well use my old car
, save getting the new one full of dust and crap

I wouldn't bet on 1 day transport. mines been sitting less than 8 miles away at port of Tyne since Wednesday and I still haven't got it. dealer doesn't seem to want to put themselves out to get it either.

Finally another tracker update - I am on the "10 days" part of the process now.

Based on the other estimates that the tracker has provided, I will have to allow 25 days to avoid disappointment.
