Calling all lens experts!
« on: 04 June 2013, 11:32 »
So, all you lens experts out there! What can you tell me about this beautiful lens?

Listed as Hoya Minolta fit 135mm 2.8 Close Focus.

Seems that it is a Minolta fit, looks too wide for MD so I'm thinking AF? A mount?

Anyway, love to know what you think of it, as I have just won it on eBay for 99p :O

Says it is smooth functioning etc, but lets be honest, for 99p who can complain!

Well the 135mm F2L in the Canon line-up is supposed to be stunning for portraits.

Hope it's a good 'un!
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Me too, any old mount can be converted manually so don't really mind, was just wondering if anyone recognised the lens!

UPDATE!

The lens has come, here are some more pictures. It has a chip in the top but other than that it is immaculate, very clean, smooth focus and aperture rings.

Very happy!

Looks clean.

It looks like an MD mount. Get it on your camera now!
Old lens mount guide you might find useful at some point.

Cheers for that! Won an MD/MA adapter with the glass for 99p, gonna try it and make sure the lens works. If the lens works but the adapter is pants then I will do the conversion!

I'm on the look out for bargain prime lenses too. I'm looking for lenses that are expensive to get in modern AF guise, but in M42 or MD mount, much cheaper. Stuff like 35mm, 85mm (f1.8 or f2) and 135mm.

OK, as I am a nice person, I will let you in on a secret.

http://www.lastminute-auction.com/uk/index.php?t=6

They have a photography section.

Check everything! Even things you don't want. This was listed on here wrong, hence 99p.

Good luck and don't share this with all the photographers!
