Error codes and headaches.
« on: 02 June 2013, 17:45 »
Just wondering if anyone has any insight into the common cause for these faults to occur?

I've had a problem with this for a couple of months now and the car is over fueling quite a bit at times.

It's a registered version, yes.
Unfortunately our engine codes in South Africa don't match anything online or overseas for some reason.

And yes, the..
"Intake Manifold Pressure sensor (G71)
29-10 Short to Ground - Intermittent" ;; fault is still occuring.

what's the engine code then?

post a photo of the engine too.

I got access to vw repair guides so can look up non-euro models too ;)

if it's an ADD (1.8 digifant) then check vacuum tube to ecu ;)

It's an AFV motor according to the engine number.

When you say Vacuum tube, please don't tell me you are talking about this one..

The previous owners mechanics managed to snap the white plastic pipe which the vacuum hose connects to and I have no idea how to fix that either without removing the entire dashboard.

yeah would check that yellow tube!

why do you need to take dash out? probably it goes to the ECU which lives just behind the bulkhead. all you need to take off is the plastic trim just under windscreen wipers.

Last time I tried to trace that pipe and I had the scuttle trim off it seemed like it went underneath that area and into the car itself.
Unless I missed it when I was looking..
