anyone?

current set up I have 3" dp. full exhast system. decat. induction kit (soon to be replaced with panel filter when I can be bothered) fmic. hoses. diverter valve. all the usual.

long term I want to fit a k04-001 turbo and run wmi. however wmi is more fisable at the moment, turbo further towards the end of the year.

so question is... has anyone with a k03 turbo (not k03s) fitted wmi?

what would you expect from the above set up with wmi? 200bhp? is it worth me doing or should I just buy the wmi and not fit until I have a the k04-001..

also out of interest anyone ever hybridded a k03 and k03s togeather? would there be much point? don't think the k03s is that much bigger so never really thought about it until right now and cant see there being much point cause the k03s isn't really big enough to give much lag like you get fitting bigger turbos. if anyone has hybridded a k03 and k03s... what were the results?

Are the K03 and k03s not the exactly the same housing with different turbines? There's a guy called litco on here that makes hybrids that are direct fit that push either 270 or 300 with the right supporting mods.

Note that I will be getting a map after fitting wmi or turbo.

And not sure. Could be something to look into. If so I'd happily take the turbo off recon it and replace the turbine.

I always thought it was the turbine houseing is the same. But haven't really looked into it so you could be right.

As said the k03, k03s, k03/s hybrids are the same housing wise but with different turbines. It would be better to get it mapped to include WMI but if your going to get a k03s then wait and get it all mapped together. WMI can be run without mapping but like with anything much better off getting it mapped in

Wmi personally was awesome on my mk4, running wmi on my BMW 330d now brill. I set my wmi on mk4 myself with vagcom and lemmiwinks. If now what to do, do it yourself not hard enough people around to help. Also found big difference with maf  wmi controller over hobs switch type.

k03 and k03s have the same turbine, the compressor is a bit larger on the k03s.
a k04-001 has a larger turbine than the k03 and k03s but i think the compressor is slightly smaller than the k03s. you would be better off hybriding the k04-001 with a k04-023 compressor but that needs modification of the compressor housing. as said, littco can make the hybrids and he can get the housings made up easy enough.
i went down the easy route and bought a chinese k04-001, but its not a k04-001, it has complete k04 sized internals. simular to the E05 hybrids you hear about. if and when it fails i know i can just get a genuine k04-023 and fit the cartridge into the housings after an overhaul.
i plan to buy WMI kit next then go for a custom map when cash allows..lol
