I don't have these on my mk 6, quite looking forward to having them.

How do you change the beam for driving in Europe?
Are they really a lot better than halogen?

There's a setting in vehicle menu to change to European driving and there are much better than halogen

Yes, they are miles better than halogen.  Couldn't believe the difference when I first got a car with them.

Difference is night and day. The halogens are like a pair of candles by comparison! Plus they dip and bend automatically, depending on slopes/bends on the roads. Really brilliant.

Don't be surprised if people flash at you because they think you're driving around with your full beams on.  I used to get this regularly with my Mark V, but I get it a lot less with the Mark VI.

If I really was driving around with full beams on all the time, you'd know about it.

I'm not sure if we get the Dynamic bend version in the UK, i think they're just up and down not left and right. :undecided:

They are definitely bending left/right on mine, it says it on the factory spec for mine - the dealer sent me a screen shot this morning of the status of my car and for the xenons it says:

Xenon headlamps with LED separate DRL'S and bending light.

+1.  Agree, mk5 was much worse for this, used to really p!ss me off getting constantly flashed at but only happens occasionally with mk6.

They might be dynamic in Ireland then where they adjust while at speed as going round bends

- In UK however they seem to be the static ones only, and the word static is a little deceiving as it is low speed really, such as when turn down streets etc and there is additional light placed into where you going before complete the manoeuvre - Friend has this and it is quite noticeable and effective in lighting up the turn long before you would with normal lights.

The only thing I am not upgrading on it seems over present car is Quattro (even though I am expecting that to not be overly noticeable if at all) as these Xenon tick another box ..

I am not as fortunate as you guys and have the GT on order (which i am sure I will still be over the moon with....until I start seeing GTDs and GTIs out on the road!!!)...

I ordered it back in March with Xenons, at that time there was only one option which cost £785. I found out on the forum (luckily!) that the car would be delivered WITHOUT the 'U' shaped LED daytime running lights (a subject already covered on another thread some time ago).

I swiftly cancelled my order (after 3 weeks of deadly silence, lack of information, and very little help/info from either the dealership or the VW executive office).

I then re-placed the order at the start of April, this time speccing the newly available xenon option at £1185, "Including static cornering function, automatic range adjustment, headlight washers, low washer fluid warning light and LED daytime running lights"

I am told by VW to expect delivery around the end of June and I have to be honest, I am still a bit nervous about what I will actually be getting......
