the -60mm will be from a std golf (not gti) so they will be 40/45mm in real life

only quality (eibach) list true lowering and people moan saying -20mm is not enough (then go and buy -40mm apex etc)

oh and i would go for gti springs (95+ 65mm pig tails)
'Pi' also do shortened shocks quite cheaply, a full set of shocks and springs are about £240.. i've no idea about the quality but they can only be an improvement over old worn out gear.

Paul just use your koni's for now and when and IF they die then just buy some shortened ones.

What you actually need is uprated shocks, but as you have Koni's already they will be fine.

Even Koni sport shocks are only designed for -20mm springs, 60mm drop will need shortened shocks that are designed to work with the shorter travel.

This. The extra strain you're putting on the shocks will mean they'll fail prematurely.
