Just to check a few discrepancies between my valver and monza's i would appreciate it if you could all note down the speed you are going in each gear at 4.5k revs:

Here is mine:

1st = 20mph
2nd = 40mph
3rd = 60mph
4th = 75mph
5th = 90mph

Thanks

Sounds like one of you has an 8v box and the other a 16v as i think the ratios are slightly different.  Mine with the standard 16v box are similar to the top set

Even if your car is fast it will still be doing the same revs in any one particular gear to another car of the same spec.  Just sounds like one is fitted with a 8v box and the other a 16v nothing wrong with either just slightly different ratios leading to the differences each of you are seeing at any point in one particular gear.

Very true!

If i remeber an 8V box in a 16ver, is the best compromise, as you can have the low down grunt but can cruise on lower revs in 5th, when i am cruising at around 70mph i am on about 3.5k revs, i suspect the Monza would be under 3k revs? i am assuming that it would take you longer to get to 60mph - 100mph than me but quicker to 0mph to 60mph then me?

I am just guessing here i have no idea really :)

Thats the one most people swap to an 8v box if they do lots of high speed motorway driving.  The 8v box allows less revs at any one speed than a 16v box in fith.  Think the rest of the ratios are very similar so the o-60 only using first and second will be almost the same and the driver of the car will prob have more to do with it than the gear ratios.
