hi all new to the vw,s my mk3 golf gti 8v back fires when i change gear and has lack of power cant get over 90mph please help

Take it back, or break out your wallet, Its a Mk3 so it wont cost much.
Only thing that costs money on these is welding them up and painting them :grin:

Probably just needs new plugs and leads etc etc, or the timing is out......
One of the easiest cars to change a cam belt on but so so many are done wrong, mine ran like a bag o sh!te when I go it turned out to be 3 teeth out on the dizzy

But one of these, it will save you so much time and money and forum sarcasm....
When you get a problem plug it in, hell just plug it in your I bet your abs light has been removed :laugh:

Next, use the search function and the stickied Mk3 info as Tweed will have a field day otherwise.

NB: its an 8v so search engine conversion now before you get passed by chav saxo
NBB: did i mention rusty sills, floor bungs, wheel arches, gutter trays?
NBBB: Throttle body cleaning, breather pipes, crank sensor, hall sensor, relays.

That should keep you busy :laugh:

I never get passed by chav saxo's as they are known to be crap on open water......
