Hmmmm...
« on: 04 May 2013, 19:52 »
Bought some powerflex black series rear beam bushes for the track car
http://www.powerflexsuspensionbushes.co.uk/vw-golf-mk4-powerflex-black-pfr85-415blk-rear-beam-mounting-bush-6711-p.asp

Got the old ones out and got to installing the polys
Problem being they just look too big
Measured them up with the vernier and the bushes are 72.5mm as stated on the link and the standard holes is only 69mm
Is this right?? I didn't want to try force them in case I ruined them  :undecided:

Any ideas?

The old sleeve is normally so mangled and rusty that it can be hard to see it, I'd be tempted to take another look. You might have to persuade it with a hammer and chisel.

Did the bushes today
There was no sleeve as the bushes in there the the updated standard bush which has a plastic surround as you can see on this link....

From what I could see on the Internet the size difference is correct so I just forced them in there and all is good
