Votex alarm
« on: 03 May 2013, 08:38 »
Hi all can anyone tell me if a Votex alarm system is a factory fit? I am having a few problems with one on my car and when I found the siren buried in the rear quarter it has VAG plugs/wiring into it so not sure if its after market or not? I will upload some pics later today but any advice would be great it also seems to have an immobiliser in the boot which I have nno fob for this is also connected into this votex system, Thanks in advance.
I also have a 79 Escort it only has a couple of sticky pages!!

Thatcham don't actually make alarms, they work with manufacturers to provide a classification/rating system for alarms.

Mine is draining battery and when car is turned off you can hear the siren crackling away from the wheel arch it has also thrown up a fault code related to the immobiliser which coincidentally I dont have a reset fob or code to obtain one im not sure whether I can get a code?

P1570 engine start blocked by immobiliser is the code thats showing however the car does start straight away if you charge battery or jump it, another reason i asked about factory fit is there are parts of votex system tucked up with sunroof motor which look very untidy and not factory done lol
