Well, not that I want to get Bear going again

, but a couple of years ago, I got a letter from Aviva stating that Shell UK (the Petrol forecourt division), was claiming against me for damaging one of their Petrol Pumps. I was quite shocked when I saw the letter and immediately contacted Aviva. It transpired that the incident occurred in a village in Kent, and on the day (at at the time of the alleged incident) I was at my offices in Warrington Cheshire (190 miles away), in a meeting with a very important client. We had video footage of my car leaving our car park (part of our security system) at 5.20pm, and the incident occurred at 4.15pm. So unless I had a way of travelling nearly 200 miles in 1 hour it was totally impossible for me to be there.
As far as I was concerned, it was a simple case of mistaken identity. However it took over a year and countless letters and calls to the idiots at Aviva to get it sorted. They were not in the least bit pro-active, and it was me that had to prove my innocence, not Shell who had to prove me guilty - I did all the casing not them ! Shell eventually admitted, that their CCTV showed the car as a White Honda (I at the time had a black MK5 Golf - quite similar eh?), and the guys name was Aziz (mine is Andrew) !!!! For 6 months afterwards I continued to battle them as they had this down on my record as one incident, even though it was nothing to do with me, and I was 200 miles away at the time !
Needless to say, I only stayed with them last year whilst the case was closed, but made myself a promise that even if they were the cheapest, (which they are not by £75), I still wouldn't go with them !
